Deictic communication, like pointing and referencing, is fundamental to understanding communication in both typical and atypical populations, and forms the key connection between language and objects/locations in the world. It is therefore critical to understanding human-human interaction. This two-day workshop will combine an introduction to theoretical aspects of deictic communication by DComm members and keynote lectures by leading researchers in the field.

PhD course credit: 1 ECTS
