Annika Lübbert, Visiting PhD student

New face at IMC

Annika Lübbert is joining the IMC as a visiting PhD student during the month of September. Her home institute is the Department of Neuro- and Pathophysiology in Hamburg, at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf, where she studies embodied social cognition as part of a European research consortium (socSMCs.eu): In two experiments, she observes the behaviour, movement and brain activity of two persons interactively solving tasks on the computer/tablet, and interviews them about their experience both during and after the experiment.

Annika is very much interested in the implications of conceiving of minds and human capacities as embodied, enacted, situated and socially constituted - in particular for how we learn and work in teams, and how we study human cognition. She is excited to spend this time at the IMC, where she hopes to find ample opportunities to discuss with and learn from others about these questions.

Besides work she enjoys being outdoors and doing any kind of sports - most recently she discovered her interest in Tai chi and Karate.
