As of February 1, Josh Skewes will be taking up the position as Head of Department at Linguistics, Cognitive Science and Semiotics at Aarhus University. To those of us that knows Josh, this seems an obvious and wise choice. However, it is somewhat unusual in the sense that Josh’ permanent position is and remains at School of Culture and Society, while the Department is hosted at School of Communication and Culture. However, multiple activities, including the Cognitive Science degree, spans these two schools. Kudos to the management of the schools that they have found ways to administratively solve, what could easily have been a Gordian knot. This bodes well for the future ability to develop meaningful links and collaborations across institutional divides at AU. Huge Congrats to the Schools, the Department and to Josh!
