Mihaela Taranu, Research Assistant

New face at IMC

Mihaela Taranu has started a Research Assistant position at IMC. She will work with Marc Malmdorf Andersen on a research project about play, predictions and fun with the use of mobile eye-tracking.

Previously, Mihaela had a Marie Curie Fellowship at the University of Plymouth, UK, in a large European project about cognitive innovation and creativity (www.CogNovo.eu). In her PhD thesis she investigated whether visual and auditory perception share domain general/specific mechanisms and how individual differences in executive functions and creativity relate to perceptual mechanisms. To address these questions, she used methods from developmental psychology, cognitive psychology and neuroscience.

After her PhD, she had a research position at the University of Cambridge in a project about the role of angular gyrus in autobiographical memories. She is experienced with psychophysics methods, developmental research and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

She feels at home in the interdisciplinary atmosphere from IMC.
