How two or more people coordinate their actions with each other has always been a topic of interest, especially in the Humanities. However, systematic theoretical and experimental research about the cognitive processes that make joint action possible is only around for the last 20 to 30 years. During this time, the field has changed continuously along with advancements in theory and the development of new measurement and analysis technologies. This raises important questions for current researchers interested in joint action: Where will the field head next? What topics will become relevant and which questions might we soon be able to answer? What methods seem most useful for investigating joint actions in the near future?

This one-day workshop, organized by the Cognitive and Social Brains Center (CSBC) and the Interacting Mind Center (IMC), aims to bring together researchers to present recent or ongoing work, to share new ideas for future directions, and to discuss what novel questions need to be asked within the field of joint action.

Participation

The workshop is limited to a set number of presenting participants only. Most places are filled, but if you would like to be invited for a presentation as well, please get in touch with cvesper@cc.au.dk. During the first part of the workshop (i.e., the presentations in the morning), limited spaces are available for non-presenting participants who are welcome to join as audience (registration required). The second part (i.e., the discussion in the afternoon) is open only to presenters.
