May 15-16, 2018 at the Department of Ethnology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, will be taking place The International Conference “Experiments and Experimentality in Interdisciplinary Studies” involving Andreas Roepstorff, who is developing Experimental Anthropology at Aarhus University (Denmark), and Dimitris Xygalatas, who leads the Experimental Anthropology Lab at The University of Connecticut (USA), Professor Joe Dumit, University of California, Davis (USA), their colleagues and PhD students, and also Russian anthropologists interested in the issue of experiment as a method and experimentality as a principle of scientific research.
The conference is considered by its coordinators as a kind of “Mayday” for our discipline and suggests a constructive discussion of the following topics:
- Experiments in Science and Experiments on Science.
- Interdisciplinary Labs as a Form of Cooperation: Goals, Problems, and Results
- Under “Controlled Conditions” or/in “Natural Habitat”?
- The Observer Position during his/her Journey, Expedition, Experiment
- The Museum as a Lab.
- Ethical Issues of Experiments in Anthropology
