Anna Louise Skovgaard, PhD Student

New face at IMC

Anne Louise Skovgaard is a new PhD Student at Interacting Minds Centre, Department of Clinical Medicine and Horsens Regional Hospital.

Her PhD project is an ethnographic study of experience with disease- and treatment-related duties and care among chronically ill patients who suffer from acute episodes leading to frequent admissions to hospital. The aim is to produce knowledge on the negotiations by which patients seek to balance their ressources and duties in relation to the healthcare system, and how this is addressed in the encounter between patient and healthcare professionals.

The project is part of the larger research programme entitled ”Preventable admissions - a cross-sectorial project following the patient trail” (CROSS-TRACKS). The project runs from February 2019 to January 2022 and is based at Horsens Region Hospital.
