New face at IMC: Assistant Professor Christine Parsons

2017.01.17 | Anne-Mette Pedersen

Christine Parsons did her PhD in Psychology in Ireland, before moving to Oxford University for postdoc training in the Dept. of Psychiatry.  Her work at Oxford focused on early parenting, its brain basis and impairments in mood disorders. While involved in a treatment trial for maternal depression, she became keenly interested in investigating how treatments work and how to improve their effects.

She has arrived at IMC with funding from TrygFonden to investigate treatment adherence in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction using wearable technology. This work will involve a collaboration with Engineering at AU, Human-Computer Interaction (Ireland), Psychology (UCLA) and the Danish Mindfulness Center.
