A new last minute position for a postdoc or researcher with computing and experiment experience has been made available in a collaborative project between Aarhus University and the University of Sussex.

On behalf of Dr. Daniel Campbell-Meiklejohn we're passing on this notice of a new (last minute) position available for a postdoc or researcher with computing and experiment experience.

Postdoc/researcher position available at Aarhus/Brighton UK

Locations:  Aarhus and Brighton UK (45 minutes from London on the beach).

Salary with PhD: Approx: 424 000 Danish Kroner inclusive of 17% pension (£45,000, €60,000)

Salary without PhD: Approx360 000 Danish Kroner inclusive of 17% pension (£38,000 ,€48000)

Start date: October 1st, 2014.  The post is for a fixed one-year term.

The research position is available for a collaborative project between Aarhus University (Aarhus, Denmark) and the University of Sussex (Brighton, United Kingdom). This research position will involve the improving the design and programming of social cognition tasks and their validation in a large healthy sample, and potentially patient groups. The post would particularly suit an individual with a background in programming (coding) with an interest in the mind, social cognition, psychometrics and/or clinical testing. The researcher will be part of an international team of experts and will work closely with me (Dan Campbell-Meiklejohn). Directly resulting papers, assuming all responsibilities are met, will result in first authorship for the researcher. As long as project aims are met, opportunities to collaborate, publish, network, and apply for independent funding for related projects will be supported.

The researcher will likely spend most of their time at the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex in the sunny and vibrant coastal city of Brighton UK, 45 minutes south of London. However the individual will be hired by Aarhus University, Denmark, benefiting from a healthy salary and pension plan, taxed in the location of the individual’s residency. If the researcher wishes to be based in beautiful Aarhus, this can be accommodated.  Foreign researchers with a PhD wishing to be based in Denmark for this position may qualify for reduced taxation.

The School of Psychology at Sussex is a rich and diverse research environment with outstanding facilities, faculty, and research impact.  The University of Sussex is also home to the world-class Sackler Centre for Consciousness science.  In Denmark, there will be opportunities to become involved in the exciting interdisciplinary environments including the world-class Interacting Minds Centre and Centre for Functionally Integrative Neuroscience
