Abstract

In this talk I will present a series of studies on metaphor understanding, framed in the context of neuropragmatics and involving both typical and atypical individuals. In contrast with classic propositional accounts, I will argue that the processing of metaphors involves multimodal aspects, such as mental images, which might favor or hinder their understanding.
