Abstract
How might studies of the brain shed light on language development and language processing? In this talk, I will present neuroimaging findings from both cortical structures and subcortical processing, with respect to the phonological, lexical and syntactic levels of language, making the case that linguistic specificity calls for neurological specificity, and vice versa; this argument will be further supported by including findings from neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals.
