We are happy to invite you to a full day dedicated to explore how we can cultivate presence and compassion through mindfulness training.

The event presents results from a research project financed by Velliv. The project has evaluated how mindfulness and compassion training can help prevent compassion fatigue among hospice workers. The evaluation is both presented orally by Hanne Bess Boelsbjerg, post doc. at The Interacting Minds Centre, and visually by film maker Mette Bahnsen, Persona Film in collaboration with Jakob Pagel.

To explore how mindfulness and compassion can become part of the culture of a work place, a presentation is given on how to integrate mindfulness practices as an organizational value. The presentation is held online by Center Leader Mikael Carlsen and Marianne Andreasen from CSB, Center for Specialized Pedagogical Initiatives for Children, Aarhus Municipality.

As the event is also meant as an inspiration for the practice of mindfulness and compassion, we have invited the musician and scholar in ethnomusicology, Kiku Day, who will play the Japanese instrument called shakuhachi, which is famous for its meditative qualities.

We are also happy to present performer and dancer, Dorte Bjerre Jensen, who will engage both with the online and in-person participants and make us become aware through movement. Dorte has developed different performative techniques for the exploration of space and relations as well as inner sensations.

Finally, theologian and chaplain at the University Hospital of Copenhagen, Lotte Mørk, will give a talk on dignity in relation to presence.

The event will be held in Danish.

We welcome you all to be present with us!
