Dear IMC colleagues,

The Religion, Cognition and Culture research unit has the pleasure of inviting you to an interdisciplinary lunch seminar where we will be discussing an excerpt from Erving Goffman’s book The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life (1956). Goffman’s work has been used extensively in various areas that relate to human interaction, such as ritual studies and play research.

We will discuss the chapter where Goffman outlines his dramaturgical theory, which compares the presentation of self to various roles in a theatre performance. Our aim is to explore how such an approach can be worthwhile in the various research fields we are working in.

The seminar takes place Wednesday 15th of February at 12 o’clock in building 1451, room 515 (5th floor). To retain a copy of the text, please e-mail Ingela Visuri at ivi@du.se.

A warm welcome! /The RCC crew
