Abstract
Jessie Barker is an IMC Affiliated Researcher, and currently at the Behavioural Insights Team in London. Originally part of the UK government ("the nudge unit"), BIT uses behavioural science to design interventions to improve public policy and services, and tests them with randomised controlled trials and other methods. Jessie is on BIT's Environment & Sustainability team, and will use examples of the team’s work as a springboard to discuss doing applied behavioural research outside academia.
