Anna Zamm, Assistant Professor of Cognitive Science

New face at IMC

Anna Zamm is a new tenure-track Assistant Professor of Cognitive Science (Department of Linguistics, Cognitive Science and Semiotics) and joined the IMC in September 2021.

Anna's research investigates the behavioral and neural mechanisms that allow people to coordinate the timing of actions such as joint music performance. Anna will launch her research at the IMC with a Seed Project that uses EEG hyperscanning to investigate how inter-brain coupling of cortical oscillations facilitates musical rhythm synchronization. For more information about Anna's research, see https://annapzamm.github.io/.

Prior to joining the AU community, Anna was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Social Mind and Body Lab at Central European University (Vienna/Budapest). Before that, Anna completed her PhD in Psychology (research area: Cognition & Cognitive Neuroscience) at McGill University (Canada), and her undergraduate degree in Music and Psychology at Indiana University/Jacobs School of Music (USA).
