Mette Terp Høybye

The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University is strengthening its ambition to integrate perspectives from the humanities and social sciences into health sciences research by the appointment of Mette Terp Høybye as new professor of medical anthropology from Sept 1st 2022. Mette is leading research which explores patient experiences of illness, uncertainty, decision making, assessment and knowledge making in clinical encounters, with a focus on health technologies and chronic care trajectories. Her research experiments with methods and analytical approaches in anthropology and she leads the Borderlands of Living group at the IMC. The professorship is further affiliated to Silkeborg Regional Hospital.
